Director: T.K. Falope

Featuring: Majid Michael, Genevieve Nnaji, Uche Jombo, Ebele Okaro Onyiuke

Jessica Obi (Genevieve Nnaji) is a high flying career woman and single mother to teenager, Ella (Chelsea Eze), a handful. After one scrape too many, she's packed off to live with her father and stepmother with the active participation of her grandmother, Ebele Okaro Onyiuke. Meanwhile, Jessy has been hurt again by a man. It's definitely goodbye to men.

Now to the point where the story gets woozy (perhaps I did doze off). Enter Neto, the 26-year old driver and sometimes agony uncle albeit unsolicited. Neto is acted by Majid Michael. He still remains my current favourite actor but doesn't look or act his 26 years. If that's not preposterous enough, he, this boy from very poor background, begins to dish advice to his very strict madam. If you consider that he needs that job, he's either foolish or plain mad.

Then from the blues, Jessy proposes a fake marriage to him. Where did that come from? I swear I didn't doze off (I think). And the payment
for accepting this fake marriage is N15m of no physical contact for one year. I never get what prompted this arrange marriage.

If this reminds you of The Proposal (Sandra Bullock), Silent Scandals must have come before that. Anyway, it's a simple case of great minds thinking alike. The way Jessy and Neto's relationship evolves is not believable. There's no 'relationship' to begin with. Then bang! Neto decides he is in love with Jessy who throws him out. At this point, the viewer can only wait out the impending 'katakata' because we do know Neto and Ella (Jessy's daughter) dated.

Inevitably, Ella reappears, reunites with Neto. How do you think this love triangle will be resolved? I'm no good at Mathematics maybe that's why I'm puzzled at how it ends even as I wonder that Genevieve has a certain detachment.

Majid should've been a junior staff at her company and didn't have to have known her daughter, Ella, from the beginning of the film (Now, I'm writing my own film).

Still, I must warn you that I like Silent Scandals...
