Prince Jandon comes to Nollywood

Following the success of Desperate Billionaire and End of Money, two blockbuster movies released last year by Arinze Ezeanyaeche, the Nollywood's youngest producer, is set to flag off the new year with another potential box office hit. The new movie entitled, Prince Jandon, according to producer, will hit market shelves nationwide on VHS cassettes and VCDs, in a fortnight.

Already, at the postproduction stage, the movie from the stable of the award-winning A2Z Productions was shot on locations in Lagos and its environs. According to sources on location, Prince Jandon is full of intrigues and suspense. Starring the mischievous duo of Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme (Aki and Paw paw), who played the lead roles in the movie, the flick also features Enugu State based actress, Rita Edochie and fast-rising, Marylyn Ize Iyamu among others. The film was directed by youthful Michael Jaja.

Speaking on the movie, the 23-year-old producer said that Prince Jandon is a true-life story that took him and his production team almost a year to research. Thematically, the film highlights the evils associated with dirty money and its attendant consequences, especially in a society where people worship wealth irrespective of where and how it was acquired.

On the challenges posed by the work, Ezenanyaeche said, “it was also not easy achieving most of the scenes in the movie. For instance, some of the action-packed scenes were shot in a roving helicopter and a speedboat; we procured these expensive props with huge amount of money. Then achieving these scenes was also not easy, hence we had to shoot with cranes and the latest equipment. These factors explains why the actors were on location for more than a year.

'My dream and vision is to achieve what they are doing in Hollywood and that we have started already with Prince Jandon the Anambra State-born producer disclosed. In a brief comment on the movie, the duo of Osita Iheme and Chinedu Ikedieze told Daily Sun, “in recent times, no movie has really challenged us the way Prince Jandon did. From the locations to the costumes, props and even the storyline, everything was superb,”the dimunitive duo remarked.
