Reggae music star, Prince Wadada, has described himself as the best reggae musician in the world.

Speaking with nollywoodgists.com after receiving the Best Reggae Artiste award at the KORA All Africa Music Awards held in Burkina Faso on Sunday, Wadada said the honour was further confirmation that he is currently the best artiste playing that genre of music.

“I'm not bragging, but the fact remains that even if Bob Marley was still alive, he would have known that there is somebody in Nigeria called Prince Wadada. He would have known that there is somebody that can give him a run for his money,” Wadada boasted.

The artiste has remained one of the most relevant reggae musicians in the country and has released hit songs that include If Men Were God and Holy-Holy, among others.

Speaking further on why he has not been performing shows lately, he said it cannot be unconnected with the fact that he is a live band artiste.

Hear him: “It is because some of these people cannot afford to pay for my full band. I go to shows with my band members, so you will hardly see me doing the CD miming stuff.”

Meanwhile, the duo of Paul and Peter Okoye otherwise known as PSquare, clinched the Artiste of the Year category, smiling home with a whopping sum of $1miilion [N150 million], while their elder brother and manager, Jude 'Engees' Okoye also won the Best Video category that attracted a cash prize of N3million.

PSquare was not present at the award as the twin brothers were performing at a concert in Troxy, London, but the Burkina Faso President, Blaise Campaore, who received the award on their behalf, sent his presidential jet to fetch the Danger crooners from London.

On their arrival in Burkina Faso a day after the award, Psquare performed to the delight of the crowd waiting for them at the Ouagadougou Stadium, venue of the award concert.
