Although there were differences between the Zimbabwean and Nigerian producers over the plot of The Zimbabwe I Know, the film went ahead.
The film launch was held recently and attended by the acting Chief Executive Officer of the ZTA, Givemore Chidzidzi; Chiefs George and Jerry Okeke of Oketex Investments (co-sponsors of the project with the ZTA); media practitioners and representatives of the recording industry.

Speaking at the launch, Chidzidzi noted that film was one of the most powerful destination marketing tools. He said that places such as the Eiffel Tower that appeared in many movies attracted numerous visitors.

The Zimbabwe I Know was directed and produced by Nigerian actor Ejike Asiegbu who stars in the film. Also to be seen is famous Nigerian actress Uche Jombo and a number of well-known and other new Zimbabwean actors including Tapiwa Mavingidze, Charity Dhlodhlo, Tatenda Mavetera, Evangelista Mwatse, Tonderayi Chiyindiko, Charles Mucheriwa and Nothando Nobengula.

It was filmed in and around Harare.
