The glitz and glamour of YOMAFA awards

It was a gathering of who- is -who in the entertainment industry as film makers, actors and musicians from the Yoruba movie industry all converged for the celebration of this year's Yoruba Movie and Music Awards (YOMAFA) held at the Blue Roof of the Lagos State Television (LTV8), Ikeja, Lagos.

Celebrities trooped in and were treated to the traditional carpet interviews which was anchored by popular star actress Araparegangan who starred in the famous movie entitled Saworoide.

The crowd got excited after the wonderful performances of Tope Alabi, and Beautiful Nubia who left the crowd in tears as he serenaded the crowd with his emotional performance of the song Awero.

Present at the awards were personalities such as Dayo Liadi of Ijodi Dance Group, Bolanle Abdul Rahman, Demola Adelakun, Shey Baby, Lanre Teriba, Fatai Rolling Dollar, Shade Omoniyi (Lepa Shandy), Muyiwa Ademola, Lola Alao, Sulaiman Ajilara Ajobiewe and Tunji Bamishigbin among others.

The awards might have come and gone, but the memories would continue to linger in the minds of the guests on the night, most especially the winners of award plaques. The award is organized basically to promote indigenous culture and values.

Gospel Artiste of the year-Tope Alabi

Fuji Artiste of the year-Osupa Saheed

Yoruba Contemporary music award- Shola Alison (Eji-Owuro)

Youth Musician of the year-9ice

Best movie awards-Awodi by Murphy Afolabi

Best actress- Funke Akindele

Best Cinematography Movie- Apaadi by Funke Akindele

Best male actor- Yinka Kadiri

Best supporting actress- Mosun Filani

Best supporting actor-Afeez Eniola

Best cultural movie-Asa by Fathia Balogun
