I Lost My Creative Side After Mental Health Diagnosis – Ycee
Nigerian rapper and singer Oludemilade Martin Alejo, professionally known as Ycee, has opened up about his battle with mental health.
Making the disclosure in a recent interview, he revealed that he was diagnosed with a mental health disorder in 2020.
The 'Jagaban' crooner further revealed that after medications and multiple hospitalisations, he had to accept that the version of himself he knew was not coming back. He noted that the experience affected his creativity, and he could no longer freestyle like he used to.
The singer, however, failed to share more information about his diagnosis.
He said:
"I was diagnosed with a mental health disorder in 2020.
After medications and multiple hospitalisations, I had to accept that the version of me I knew wasn't coming back.
It affected my creativity.
I could no longer freestyle like I used to."
