"Tuesdays Might Never Be The Same Again" – Actor Uti Nwachukwu Remembers Late Alexx Ekubo, One Week Since His Death
Ex-BBNaija housemate and actor Uti Nwachukwu is remembering his close ally, the late Alexx Ekubo.
The Nigerian Voice recalls that the actor gave up the ghost on May 11, at the age of 40, following a battle with cancer.
According to reports, he battled stage four liver cancer in 2024 and underwent a transplant; however, in 2026, the liver failed again, and he died from complications hours after being placed on life support.
Remembering the late actor in an emotional post, Uti Nwachukwu noted how it has been a week, acknowledging how Tuesdays may never be normal again.
He also recounted how he got the news of Alexx Ekubo's death, sharing how he did not initially believe the first call, however, the second confirmatory phone call made him race to the hospital.
Nwachukwu, while describing his colleague's death as painful, he revealed that he finds it hard to say goodbye, while praying for God's grace and strength for the deceased's loved ones.
He wrote:
"Today makes it a week.
Tuesdays might never be the same again.
Goofing around when the first message came.
I said, Una never taya for rumour? Abegi
Then the phone call came. I answered in my playful tone, but my always happy Gee’s phone was so cold as he said, “I don’t have good news for you”.
I will never forget the second confirmatory phone call as I raced to the hospital.
The pain comes and goes in waves now, and I still can’t get myself to say goodbye. I pray God consoles all your loved ones and gives us the fortitude we all need."
