Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon, has expressed his view on traditional gender roles, stating that he has no problem with performing the duty of a wife once financial stability is involved.

Speaking on the Tea With Tay podcast, the energetic actor maintained that if his wife hits a good financial deal that offers them guaranteed finances—he would quit acting instantly.

Okanlawon stressed that he will automatically become a house husband, take his children to school, and also work in the kitchen, despite his lack of experience in that aspect.

He noted how several men don't find it comfortable, however, he sees nothing wrong with performing in another role once there is money, adding that his lifelong prayer is to remain valuable to his family beyond gender.

He said:
"I pray to God. My wife hits a business that earns between $1 million and $10 million per year. You won’t see me act again.

I will become a house husband. I will take my children to school and even cook, despite not knowing how to. If there is money, I don’t mind being a house husband. If there is money? What are you doing again?

“I find that a lot of men are not comfortable with that dynamic, so they become hypersensitive and complain over little things.

“My only prayer is that, as a human being, regardless of gender, I should be valuable to my family.”

Deyemi Okanlawon tied the knot with his wife, Damilola in January 2013 and their union is blessed with three children.
