"I'm Always Surprised" – Blessing CEO Reacts To Selective Sympathy Following Death Of Alexx Ekubo

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Controversial relationship expert Blessing Okoro, better known as Blessing CEO, has expressed her surprise over what she described as selective sympathy, following the death of actor Alexx Ekubo.

The Nigerian Voice recalls that the actor gave up the ghost on May 11, at the age of 40, following a battle with cancer.

According to reports, he battled stage four liver cancer in 2024 and underwent a transplant; however, in 2026, the liver failed again, and he died from complications hours after being placed on life support.

Following the death of the light-skinned actor, netizens took to social media to wish death upon the relationship expert instead of the actor.

Reacting to the wishes and curses, Blessing CEO, who had previously claimed she had cancer, slammed the public for sympathizing with the dead and bullying the living.

She pointed out the irony in which people express sympathy over the death of an individual, while the same sympathy is not expressed during the individual's lifetime.

She further slammed those wishing death upon her, praying for God's wrath upon their life.

Defending the decision of the actor's family to keep his illness off the face of the public, Blessing CEO maintained that if his pictures had been released in his sick stage, he would have been exposed to public ridicule.

She wrote:
"How do you people sympathize with the dead but bully the living? Each time someone passes away and I see how people become suddenly sympathetic, I’m always surprised. If you read the comments people make when the person is alive, you’ll be shocked. Some people were even saying things like ‘God should take Blessing CEO and give us Alexx Ekubo.’ God will punish u all!

“And for those saying his family kept everything off social media, if his pictures had been posted while he was sick, the same people would still have mocked him and said all sorts of things.”

Recall that Blessing CEO caused widespread outrage on social media after claiming to be battling with stage 4 cancer on March 4. Surprisingly, it was later discovered that she. was allegedly in possession of another individual's medical report.
