Nollywood veteran Victoria Inyama, has opened up on Female Gender Mutilation (FGM), better known as female circumcision, and its effect on her.
Speaking during a recent Instagram live season with Daddy Freeze, the actress admitted that the act is evil, revealing that she has to cope with the consequences.
She recounted how she lived with her grandmother while growing up, and was circumcised in the village.
Speaking about the effect, Inyama stated that it has given her control over her sexual urge, stressing that no one can force her to have sexual intercourse without her willingness.
“FGM is evil. You now have to deal with the consequences. I was circumcised because I grew up with my grandmother in the village. That’s the best thing that they did for me because it is helping me a lot.
“If I say I no dey do, I no dey do. And that is the power that I have. That’s why nobody can say they’ve seen me with a man in any hotel."
