Zlatan Opens Up On Parents Initial Disbelief Of Source Of Wealth
Nigerian singer and rapper Raphael Omoniyi Temidayo, popularly known as Zlatan, has opened up his parents initial struggle with accepting his level of financial buoyancy.
The 'Able God's crooner made the disclosure in a recent episode of the YACN podcast. According to him, upon gaining stardom in 2019, he acquired his first house in the Lekki area of Lagos, and gifted his parents.
He revealed that the gift was met with strong resistance from them, as they refused to accept that such level of wealth was only from music; he explained that he had to show them his musical earnings before they accepted.
Zlatan also used the medium to admonish parents to embrace carrying out due diligence over the source of wealth of their children.
"When I blew up in 2019, I bought my first house in Lekki and decided to gift it to my parents. I called them on the phone and asked them to come and they were like, ‘A house? That’s not possible. Are you doing something else apart from music? How did you buy a house worth millions in the space of one year?."
