Actress Lilian Afegbai Slams AMVCA Over Nomination Snub
Nollywood actress Lilian Afegbai, has slammed the organizers of the 12th African Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA), following her omission from the category of the Best Supporting Actress.
Following the announcement of the nomination lists, Lily took to the popular microblogging platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), acknowledging her omission as expected.
She, however, maintained that her nomination snub has no effect on her career, urging the organizers to keep their award.
“I always choose to believe everything happens for a reason. I don’t need a nomination for validation. The truth is clear nobody trended like IDIA from TKAM last year. Her acting was. You guys can eat your award."
Lilian Afegbai played the role of Idia in Kemi Adetiba’s Netflix series “To Kill a Monkey,” embodying the character excellently, which endeared her to many Nollywood fans.
The Best Supporting Actress category features Nollywood actresses, including Linda Ejiofor, Bisola Aiyeola, Sola Sobowale, and Funke Akindele.
