"Why Must There Be Consistency In Going Backwards?" — Pete Edochie Bemoans Lack Of Amenities In Nigeria
Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has berated the Nigerian government over the lack of provision of social amenities.
The father of actor Yul Edochie expressed his frustration with the state of things in the country while appearing on a recent episode of AIT’s programme JIGSAW. He cited the issue of power supply, bemoaning the amount he spends on it daily.
According to him, the sum of N40,000 is spent daily to power his house, in addition to spending N10,000 on electricity and N30,000 on diesel and fuel
He further slammed politicians for marginalizing the South East, stating that a person in power has previously cut off the South East from railway transportation. Pete Edochie also questioned the reason behind the consistency in moving backwards in the country.
He said:
“I spend N40,000 in my home every day for light. It disturbs me a lot. N10,000 for electricity and additional N30,000 on diesel and fuel.
"Nobody seems to be bothered about what is happening to the common man. Why must it keep getting worse on each new day? Can we not improve? There was a time when somebody cut off the South-East in terms of railway transportation. Why must there be consistency in going backwards?."
