Famous American magazine, Billboard has come under immense criticism after labelling Nigerian Afrobeats star, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, as as 'one-hit wonder.'

The entertainment publication recently sparked outrage after resharing an article from its June 2025 chart beat, on February 16, 2026.

In the now-viral post on the popular microblogging platform, X formerly known as Twitter, Billboard curated a list tagged "25 Biggest One Hit Wonders of the 21st Century” and placed Rema in number six, for his hit song 'Calm Down' featuring Selena Gomez.

According to the entertainment magazine, Rema has been unable to join the Hot 100 again after featuring Selena Gomez, despite entering six top 10s on U.S. Afrobeats Songs, through the June 7, 2025, chart.

Billboard's post has not sat down well with many netizens, particularly Nigerians and lovers of the singer, who have taken to social media to express their displeasure with the tag placed on the singer.

According to many individuals, the 'one-hit wonder' tag donwplays the singer's successful career.
