Tunde Ednut Cancels Birthday Parties In Nigeria, Cites Insecurity Issues

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Popular celebrity blogger Tunde Olaoluwa Adekunle, better known as Tunde Ednut, has announced his decision to cancel all his birthday parties, scheduled to hold in Nigeria, in January 2026.

The blogger, via his Instagram page, made the formal announcement, citing insecurity Issues ravaging several parts of Nigeria. According to him, most of the venues of his birthday parties are now prone to kidnapping issues, among other security concerns raised.

Ednut admitted that the country is unsafe, hence his decision is influenced by his passion not to put Nigerians at risk, while celebrating on his behalf.

He further reiterated that Nigeria is not safe, and he doesn't feel comfortable to host any large celebrations, in order to avoid his name being attached to anything negative, or put the public in danger.

However, he revealed his plans to host a small, private house party in Atlanta on Saturday, 17th of January, revealing that it would be strictly by attendance, and only open to a few individuals.

He further appealed to the public to post his pictures on the 20th of January, which is his birthday date.

He wrote:
"Hello everyone, God bless you all.
Due to the insecurity currently affecting different parts of the country, I've decided to cancel all my birthday parties I usually hold across Nigeria. Many of the venues I normally use are now in areas where kidnapping and other security concerns have been reported. The country is tense, and a lot is happening. It wouldn't be right for me to be in America while putting people in Nigeria at risk by celebrating on my behalf.

There are many things going on that we don't even post on Instagram because of platform restrictions, but if you follow outlets like Sahara Reporters, you'll see the reality of what's happening. Nigeria is not safe right now, and I don't feel comfortable hosting any large celebrations. I don't want my name attached to anything negative, and I don't want to put anyone in danger.

Because of this, all birthday parties planned in Nigeria will not hold this year. By God's grace, next year will be better, and we'll celebrate properly with a very big party.

For now, I'll only be having a small, private house party in Atlanta on Saturday, 17th of January. It will be strictly by invitation and for a few people only. If you're in Atlanta and
