“Music Is Tailored Down To The Marketing” - 2Baba Downplays Labelling Of ‘Wack Artistes’
Legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has downplayed the labelling of some singers as “wack" in the music industry.
2Baba dropped his opinion, while speaking in a viral video broadcast, stating that “every music is tailored made to evoke and emotion." He stressed that no one should be labelled a “wack artiste" as it all comes down to the level of marketing.
He explained that every individual has a different taste of music, adding that some singers’ songs would never appeal to some specific individuals. He also shared that music is down to the marketing and promotion, emphasizing that it is only those who are drawn to one's music that will like it.
He said:
“Every music is tailored made to evoke an emotion, to create a spirit. There is nothing like a wack artiste. That is why many of the so-called wack artists are more bankable than the talented ones. Because they understand that it is not the art itself, it is the marketing of that art.
No matter how talented you are or how sweet your music is, there is no music that everybody likes. Everything is narrowed down to the marketing, promotion and the business. It is only those who resonate with your music that will like it naturally.”
