"I Do Not Admire, Support, Or Defend Him In Any Way" - Shanks Clarifies Diddy's Claims, Following Backlash
Nigerian streamer, Adedeji Emmanuel, popularly known as Shank Comics has clarified his admiration for embattled American rapper Sean John Combs, also known as Diddy.
Recall that Shanks expressed his admiration for Diddy, while reacting to American rapper 50 Cent's recently released documentary about 'Sean Combs: The Reckoning,' which depicted the life of Diddy on popular streaming platform, Netflix, leaving many shocked at the atrocities committed by the convicted rapper.
Shank's tweet didn't sit down well with many, as they castigated him for expressing admiration for an individual who committed such heinous crimes.
Reacting to the backlash, Shanks, via the popular microblogging platform, X formerly known as Twitter, clarified the misunderstanding that his post about Diddy caused.
He emphasized that he does not in any way admire, support or defend the embattled rapper, stressing that the allegations against him are horrific, and he is deserving of the consequences for his actions.
Shanks further expressed solidarity with the victims of the American rapper, stressing that they deserve justice, while vowing to always use his platform responsibly moving forward.
He wrote:
"To clarify any misunderstanding. My post about Diddy was a misguided attempt at referencing a villain in a “movie” and it was irresponsible. To be absolutely clear, I do not admire, support, or defend him in any way. The allegations against him are horrific, and he deserves every consequence that comes from them. What he’s been accused of (and convicted of) is unacceptable and has no place in our industry or anywhere else. Victims deserve justice. I’m committed to doing better and using my platform responsibly."
