Popular Nigerian lawyer, Stan Alieke, has made an interesting observation about the Nigerian aviation industry and its airlines.

The Abuja-based lawyer took to his Instagram story to share a recent encounter he had on an airplane. According to him, the airplane he boarded recently was 70 percent empty.

He questioned why many airline operators cannot try to reduce their prices in order to promote patronage.

He revealed that he is aware that many people prefer travelling by air to travelling by road due to the safety risks on road, however, the prices of airline is hindering the possibility.

Making another observation, he wondered why some airlines prefer to fly an empty airplane, rather than reducing their prices.

He wrote:
"The aircraft I flew recently was 70% empty, which makes me wonder why airline operators can't just drop their prices to encourage more patronage. I know for a fact that most travelers would prefer flying instead of risking their lives going by road and if airlines drop their prices it's will be a win win. I've also noticed that some airlines would rather fly empty than drop their prices, even if it's a last-minute purchase, why!"
