Dangote Group Issues A Press Release Following Ruth Otabor's Death

The company of a popular businessman, Aliko Dangote, Dangote Group, has issued a press release following the death of Ruth Otabor, the younger sister of reality star, Phyna.

Recall that Ruth Otabor was hit by one of Dangote's trucks recently in Auchi , Edo State, which left her in a terrible state, and in the hospital, fighting for her life.

Unfortunately, on Sunday, 31st of August, the news of Ruth's death was first made public by the president of Auchi Polytechnic via his Instagram story. He shared a photo of her alongside a RIP and crying emojis.

The news was further confirmed by Phyna, through her legal representatives on her Instagram page, urging the public to give the family the moment to mourn their deceased sister, adding that the burial arrangement will be communicated in due course.

Reacting to the sad news, Dangote Group, via its Instagram, expressed its regret over the death of Ruth Otabor.

Extending their condolences to the family of the bereaved, Dangote Group revealed that they have been by the deceased side since the tragic incident, covering all financial and medical costs.

They shared that the decision was made to fly her to India to provide advanced treatment, however, they awaited medical clearance from her doctors.

The company reiterated its commitment to strengthening their safety systems, and supporting those affected in moments of tragedy.

They further prayed that God grants Ruth Otabor mercy, and eternal rest.

The statement read:
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ruth Otabor, who was injured in the recent road incident involving one of our trucks in Auchi, Edo State

On behalf of the entire Dangote Group, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones at this difficult time.

Since the accident, our officials and insurance partners have been by her side, covering all financial and medical costs and supporting her family. Arrangements had been made for her to be flown to India for advanced treatment, pending medical clearance from her doctors. Sadly, despite these efforts and Ruth's brave fight to live, we lost her today.

At Dangote Group, safety, accountability, and compassion remain at the core of our operations. We remain committed to strengthening out safety systems and supporting those affected in moments of tragedy. May God grant her mercy and eternal rest.
