"I Always Include No Pregnancy Clause In Female Artistes' Contract" - Ubi Franklin On Challenges Of Managing Female Artistes
Popular Nigerian music executive, Ubi Franklin, has revealed that one of the challenges in managing female artistes is pregnancy
The owner of Made Men Music Group record label, better known as Triple MG, explained that pregnancy does a lot of harm to female artistes' career.
Explaining further during a recent interview on the Culture Sonic podcast, Franklin stressed that any female artiste who gets pregnant without having a solid career first, always finds it hard to bounce back after child birth.
Sharing how he avoids such situations with his female singees, he revealed that he always inserts a 'no pregnancy clause' in their contracts.
He said:
"So just imagine that you’re investing in female artiste and she gets pregnant, that is over because it would take a lot for her to come back. Mention new female artistes that got pregnant and came back.
“I’m not saying they can’t have children, but first build a strong career. If I am signing a female artiste, I always put it in the contract that they will not get pregnant for the duration of the contract.”
