"My Parents Didn't Support My Music Career From The Start" - Victony Reveals
Nigerian singer Anthony Ebuka Victor, popularly as Victony, has revealed that his parents were not initially in support of his music career.
The singer, who was involved in a tragic accident in April 2021, that led to the death of one, and left three others injured, explained that his parents weren't supportive of his music career, as they were more interested in him completing his education, and pursuing a degree in engineering.
Speaking during an interview with Behind The Prestige podcast, Victony however, revealed that his tragic accident in 2021, which led to massive public support left his parents with no choice other than to support his music career.
Victony said:
“My parents were not cool with me doing music from the jump. They didn’t tell me to stop, but they weren’t 100% supportive of it."
“They hoped I’d finish school and become an engineer.
“But when I had my accident in 2021 and they saw how much impact I had on people, how people on social media were posting things like ‘pray for Victony’, they realised my music career meant a lot to me and just let me do what I wanted.”
