"Nollywood Needs Restructuring" -Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde"
Popular Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has stated that the Nollywood industry requires restructuring.
The veteran actress and producer emphasized that the Nigerian movie industry should learn from other film industries, particularly in how they compensate actors.
Jalade-Ekeinde compared her experiences in Hollywood and Nollywood, noting that Hollywood pays royalties to performers.
She stated:
"Just four years in Hollywood. Two test projects, monthly residuals."
Sharing an envelope from SAG-AFTRA, the American union for film professionals, she wrote:
"Whereas, in 30 years in Nollywood, with over 310 projects, no residuals. #NollywoodNeedsStructure and #UnlearntoRelearn."
