"Reason I Left My Parents House At The Age Of 16" - Ayo Maff
Nigerian singer, Ayorinde Mafoluku Ayodele, professionally known as Ayo Maff, has explained the reason why he left his parents house at the age of 16.
The 'Dealer' crooner, revealed that his decision to leave his parents house in the Shomolu area of Lagos, was largely influenced by his desire to change his family's life.
He added that being the first child of the family made him make up his mind to leave to stay with his friend for one year and a few months in order to make it for his family.
Ayo Maff made the revelation during a recent interview with Hip TV, “As the first child of my family, I left home at 16 because it was not easy in there.
“Life in Shomolu is hard, fun and also exciting. Without living in Shomolu I wouldn’t have the experiences of singing about them. I wouldn’t have truly seen reality of life that shaped me.
“I looked around and realised that I had to go out and make it for these people (his family). So, I just leave to stay with my friend for one year and a few months. My mum was concerned when I was leaving, but I assured her that I would be coming to check on them.”
