Headies Awards: "When Mohbad Was Alive, He Wasn't Nominated" - Carter Efe Reacts To Mohbad's Posthumous Award
Popular Nigerian content creator and singer, Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, professionally known as Carter Efe, has called out the organizers of the Headies Awards for nominating Mohbad for clout.
Recall that the Nigerian Voice reported that the award ceremony which was the 17th edition, was held on Sunday at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos, with many celebrities in attendance.
Late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, clinched the award of the Best Street-Hop Artiste award for his hit single “Ask About Me", and his wife, Omowunmi Aloba and their son, Liam, took to the stage to receive the posthumous award on Sunday.
Reacting to Mohbad's win in a viral video on social media, Carter Efe wondered why the organizers of the award were misbehaving by nominating Mohbad.
He questioned the rationale behind nominating the late singer, while refusing to honour him when he was alive.
Slamming the organizers, he attributed the award given to Mohbad as "anything for the clout".
Carter Efe said:
"Why Headies dey misbehave now, them go dey nominate Mohbad? Wetin makes them nominate Mohbad? But when the boy was alive them no go give am o. Anything for the clout na him Headies go dey do.”
