Ogun State Police Declare Singer Portable Wanted Over Alleged Violent Attack On Government Officials
Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command over allegations of leading a violent attack on officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
The Nigerian Voice recalls that Portable has been embroiled in a conflict with the Ogun State Government, which seized his property and arrested some of his workers.
According to a statement released by the Ogun State Police, Portable allegedly led a gang of nine thugs armed with firearms to carry out a violent attack on unarmed government officials. The officials sustained various bodily injuries but managed to escape and reported the incident to the Ota Area Command.
It was also reported that the Ogun State government officials were attacked at Odogwu Bar while conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota. During the operation, they encountered an elderly man later identified as Portable’s father.
Taking to their X handle, the Ogun Police Command declared Portable wanted and urged the public to provide information that could lead to his arrest.
A part of the police statement reads:
“The Ogun State Police Command has obtained a valid court order declaring him wanted. Members of the public are strongly advised to assist the Police by providing any valuable information that can lead to his immediate arrest. Anyone found aiding or harbouring the suspect will face legal consequences.”
