Popular Nigerian lawyer Stan Alieke has shared crucial legal advice on the importance of having a prenuptial agreement before marriage.

The former lawyer of controversial singer, Speed Darlington took to his Instastory to advise individuals planning to marry on how to protect themselves from potential disputes during divorce.

According to him, everyone should ensure they have a prenuptial agreement before entering into marriage. He emphasized that this is to prevent a partner from laying claim to one’s assets in the event of a divorce.

Stan Alieke wrote on his Instastory:
"As your lawyer, I'd advise you to have a prenup agreement before going into marriage if you feel your partner may run a fast one on you during divorce & you want to protect your assets. If you can't get a prenup, acquire properties in your parent's name then have your parents gift you the properties as gifts or as your inheritance. Inheritance or gifts are exempted from being shared during divorce."
