Charly Boy Advises Celebrities to Keep Family Matters Private Amid 2Baba’s Divorce Announcement
Veteran Nigerian singer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has advised celebrities to keep their family matters off social media.
Charly Boy’s advice comes in the wake of the saga surrounding legendary Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, and his announcement of his divorce from his wife, Annie Idibia.
Reacting to the divorce saga in a recent interview with TVC, Charly Boy expressed his sympathy for 2Baba and his wife, Annie. He described their divorce as unfortunate while urging everyone to avoid airing their marital issues on social media.
He noted that while social media has evolved, people should be cautious about bringing family matters into the public domain. He revealed that he also quarrels with his partner, but they resolve their issues privately.
Charly Boy further stated that if he were to separate from his wife, no one would know about it because he wouldn’t publicize it.
Charly Boy said:
"I feel sorry for the couple [2Face and Annie Idibia]. It’s unfortunate. But my advice would be, can we just keep our business private, away from the public?
“Social media has changed a lot but it’s up to the people, too. I’m not talking from a saintly perspective. I have had quarrels with my partner but we settle in the room privately.
“You don’t bring it outside to the public to settle. I think that’s wrong because if I were to stop leaving with my wife today, nobody would know about it. I won’t make noise about it."
