Tems Cancels Upcoming Concert in Rwanda Amid DR Congo-Rwanda Tensions
Popular Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems, has canceled her ‘Born in the Wild’ tour stop in Kigali, Rwanda.
The singer, whose concert was scheduled for March 22, 2025, announced the cancellation on Friday, citing the ongoing tensions between the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Rwanda as the reason.
Taking to her Instagram page on Friday, Tems announced the cancellation of her show while apologizing for not being aware of the ongoing conflict.
Tems wrote on Instagram:
"So I recently promoted my show in Rwanda without realizing there is an ongoing conflict between Rwanda and Congo. I never intend to be insensitive to real world issues, and I sincerely apologize if this came across that way."
