Joshua Bamiloye Slams Peter Obi For Vigil Comments
Joshua Bamiloye, the son of Evangelist Mike Bamiloye has slammed the former Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, over his comments on vigil.
Peter Obi, appearing on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, noted that if he is the President, he would cancel vigils, as it leads to low productivity.
Reacting to Peter Obi's comment, Joshua Bamiloye slammed him for berating the church, he argued that the church is the least of the problems in the country.
Furthermore, he emphasized that vigils are usually held on Fridays, which is once in a week. He suggested that instead of banning vigils because of lack of productivity, recreational events, comedy shows, and concerts should be cancelled.
He wrote on X:
"So now vigils are the reason Nigeria isn’t productive? Boy, the mentality of blaming church attendance for Nigeria’s problems is a very misguided one and, at best, an insult.
"Vigils are commonly held on Fridays, right before the weekend. If we want to be productive, why not also ban recreational events, comedy shows, and concerts ban every social gathering?
The hot weather seems to have corroded some minds to the point that they fail to think clearly and address the real problems."
