Cross River State government of Senator Liyel Imoke has lent its weight to the efforts of hip hop duo, K.C Presh, in their bid to give back to society in appreciation of the support they have received from their fans.

The governor and his lovely wife, Obioma, received the duo and officials of DKL Entertainment at the Government House, Calabar, and promised to give their support to a talent-hunt programme conceived by K.C Presh and powered by DKL Events.

The talent-hunt competition is tagged "Sionkpo Talent Hunt with K.C Presh." It is billed to hold at the Cultural Centre, Calabar, on August 21, 2009.

During a chat with **Sunday Independent,** the duo said, "We went to the governor to intimate him with our project, we did not go to canvass for support since the project is charity based. But as fate would have it, the governor pledged the support of his government and we are very appreciative of the gesture.

"The talent hunt show is another avenue for K.C. Presh to reach the youth of this country and tell them that they can be themselves and make it in life," they said.

Information released by the organisers of the event, DKL Entertainment, K.C Presh's musical label and management company noted that forms for the talent hunt show are free and can be obtained at the Cultural Centre, Calabar.

The competition would produce six finalists from where an overall winner will emerge. All the six finalists automatically qualify to have a single of their songs recorded and promoted by DKL for one year in order to provide them the needed head start in their musical quest.

The overall winner would get a cash prize of N250, 000, while the first and second runners up would get the sums of N150, 000 and N100, 000 respectively.

Reputable Nigerian musicians have been pencilled in to serve as judges.

Already Cross River State Broadcasting Corporation has provided quality airtime at subsidised rates as its own contribution to enable a packaged version of the competition to go on its channels twice a week for one month.

The "Sionkpo Talent Hunt with K.C. Presh has also been slated to hold in Uyo, Asaba, Port Harcourt and Asaba in the course of the year.
