Popular Nigerian activist and human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has revealed that missing controversial Nigerian singer, Speed Darlington is in police custody in Abuja.

Recall that The Nigerian Voice recently reported that Speed Darlington's mother shared a video message appealing to Afrobeats giant, Burna Boy to release her son.

She claimed that her son was arrested by Burna Boy and his men due to the video, where Speed Darlington insinuated that Burna Boy was involved with embattled American rapper, Diddy.

Deji Adeyanju has now confirmed on his X handle that Speed Darlington has been in the custody of the Nigeria Police Force since his arrest on Friday in Lagos.

He further revealed that the controversial singer was eventually transferred to Abuja, and has since been in Abuja prison.

Deji Adeyanju claimed that Speed Darlington was arrested on the grounds of a complaint made by Burna Boy.

Deji Adeyanju wrote on X:
“We just spent the last 30mins with Speed Darlington and he narrated how he was arrested in Lagos Friday last week, moved around and eventually brought to Abuja and has been in detention since then. Petition against him was written by Burna Boy, we can confirm.”
