Mohbad's Family Advise Against Protest In Court
Popular Nollywood actor and activist, Yomi Fabiyi recently called on Nigerians to prepare for a protest, ahead of Mohbad's death one year anniversary.
The actor emphasized that Nigerians should be at alert and after the court's judgment on the case of Mohbad's death, and the ruling of the court is unfair; a protest should be done on the one year anniversary of Mohbad's death.
Mohbad's family would have none of it, as they discouraged the call for a protest through the member of its legal team, Monisola Odumosu. who stated on behalf of the family, that a protest would affect the court's proceedings and could impede the smooth judgment of the court.
The statement reads:
“Anyone is free to do whatever they wants so far he or she does it within the confines of the law. The Constitution gives everyone the right to express his or her grievances.
“However coming within the court precinct is another issue entirely. They must not make noise. The business of justice in the court must not be disturbed in any manner. Lest they be charged for contempt of Court.
“Our advice is that they should not disrupt the proceedings in the court in any form whilst they exercise their rights.”
