PORT-HARCOURT STANDS STILL FOR MAGGIE, DIEN

The garden city of Port-Harcourt, Nigeria was agog with glitz and colour last Saturday when Maggie Jack wedded her lover of many years, Dienbo Lovering Briggs according to the native law and custom of Kalabari.

The couple who decked in their traditional wears were cynosure of all eyes as they danced to the rhythms of the Sea Gulls Band and Prince David Bull.

The traditional unification, as we learnt, had the frills of those who matter in Port-Harcourt and beyond in attendance. The centre of attraction during the wedding rites was the Bibife ceremony where guests savoured the dishes from all over the world One thing that will forever linger in the entire minds of the attendants are the rich variety of Kalabari traditions they were treated with, amongst are the traditional performance from Nyemoni Cultural Group, abonnema.
