Mohbad's Death: Autopsy Report Discloses Likely Cause Of Death
Nigerians and the music industry have been filled with grief over the death of street singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad on the 12th of September, 2023.
Following the death of the late singer, many controversies have followed ranging from the clamour for an autopsy test by many Nigerians to the constant clamour for the arrest of his former record label boss, Naira Marley and his friend, Sam Larry, then to the constant accusation of the late singer's wife, Wunmi by her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba.
Not too long ago, The Nigerian Voice reported that the autopsy result of the singer indicated that the cause of the singer's death could not be found according to the report by the doctors who stated that the body had decomposed to the extent that it was hard to ascertain the cause of the singer's death.
Surprisingly, according to the latest information; the autopsy test has now suggested drugs reaction as a likely cause of his death. This was revealed after the test was conducted at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
This report was made public by TheCable; it was revealed that the late singer's autopsy indicated a sign of reaction to a drug after the singer's blood, liver, kidney, lung, and gastric content were all examined to know the likely cause of his death.
According to the result of the test, an antihistamine drug, Diphenhydramine, which is for the treatment of cold, allergies, and some stomach issues were found in the singer's body. Though, it was revealed that the quantity found in the late singer's body could not pose a death risk, as the concentration found was normal.
The anatomical and pathological examination showed an injury on Mohbad’s right forearm, and his body was found to be moderately to severely decomposed upon exhumation.
According to the report;
“It is noteworthy that the body neither had an autopsy nor embalmed prior to interment on the second day.
“Following the Order for Exhumation, the body was exhumed on 21/09/2023 (8 days after the burial).
“Autopsy revealed moderate to marked decomposition of organs. Apart from the superficial injury on the right forearm, no significant gross finding could be attributed to death.
“Against this background, samples were taken for toxicology. This is to determine if there was any anaphylactic reaction, substances of abuse, overdosage or common household poisoning.
“Toxicology revealed positive findings of Diphenhydramine, an anti-histamine; however, this concentration was not in a fatal or lethal range. The other analytics were unremarkable.”
