My First Album Was Delayed By Sickness In 2021 – Tems
Popular Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, best known as Tems, has shed light on what delayed her debut album which was set to be released in 2021.
Tems stated the reason for the delay in the release of her first album was due to an illness which hit her and made her undergo surgery which kept her out for six months.
The singer made this known in an interview with ‘New York Times,’ where she revealed how she had to release her sophomore extended play ‘If Orange Was a Place’ instead.
She disclosed how her illness inspired her new song, as it increased her instinct to live. Shs said;
“Being a warrior is about not giving up, even if they cut your leg, you walk on your knees, you fight on your knees using what you have — and that’s good enough.”
