Seun Kuti: "The Prison Is Better Than Sitting in the Devil's House with Politicians.”

By Agboola Ibrahim

Seun Kuti, an afrobeat legend and activist has fearlessly berated the association of the Nigerian Politicians. He described the circle of prisoners as far better than high-profile politicians.

This remark from Seun Kuti is coming a few days after his bail out from police detention over an offense.

Recall that the Afrobeat singer was arrested because he assaulted a police officer publicly. He claimed that his recalcitrant action to the police officer was because he threatened his life and that of his family.

The effort of his lawyer, Femi Falana, got him released from prison. After his bailout, the singer flees to Switzerland to kick off his Europe tour.

Moreover, in his recent post on his page, he reflects on the time he spent with some prisoners while being detained by the police for slapping a security operative at Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

According to Seun Kuti, while in prison, he was subjected to sleeping on a "hard cold floor". Regardless of his terrible experience in the prison with prisoners, he maintained that it is far better than sitting with the politicians.

His words read:
“Dem put me for the hard cold floor, amid prisoners still better than sitting in the devil's house with politicians.”
