The Nigerian superstar, Asake, was voted the Best African Artiste at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Award, held in Accra on May 6.

Burna Boy, Asake, Kizz Daniel, and Ayra Starr were among the formidable Nigerian musicians that Asake defeated in order to win the championship. He also defeated newcomers ,The Therapist and Cameroonian-American singer, Libianca.

Additionally, the Hip Hop superstar, Black Sherif, won Best Artist and Most Popular Song for his chart-topping song "Kwaku The Hustler," while Nigerian hitmaker Mayorkun took home the prize for Best Collaboration for his contribution to Camidoh's "Sugarcane" remix.

The purpose of the celebration was to honor the successes of Ghanaian musicians and artists throughout the previous year.
