Tiwa Savage, a popular award-winning Nigerian singer has been confirmed to perform in the forthcoming coronation of the British Monarch, King Charles III

Notably, the historic event which is scheduled to hold on May 6, 2023 will have its concert on May 7 2023 where Tiwa Savage among other singers will be performing.

Recall that the coronation of King Charles is coming after Queen Elizabeth kicked the bucket last year 8 September 2022, at Balmoral Castle, United Kingdom. She died at 96 and reigned for 70 years.

Nevertheless, it is the delight of Nigerians and Africans that Tiwa Savage will be performing alongside other celebrities such as Steve Winwood, DJ Pete Tong, Lang Lang and Lucy, Paloma Faith, and Olly Murs.

Tom Cruise, Dame Joan Collins, and Sir Tom Jones will appear via video message. Sonam Kapoor, the Indian actress, will deliver a spoken word performance, too.

This however will make her the first Nigerian artiste to have received an invitation to perform at a foreign royal coronation ceremony.

Additionally, she is one of the few African artists to be chosen to perform at this historic event.

Following the feat, she expressed elation in her social media page and also disclosed her preparedness for the performance.

“It’s truly an honour to be representing Africa and the Commonwealth at such a historic event,” she told BBC.

“I look forward to joining the celebrations and bringing Afrobeats to Windsor Castle for the first time!”
