The drama unfolded when Israel Adesanya, a Nigerian professional mixed martial artist and kickboxer based in New Zealand, shared a photo of himself, Kamaru Usman, Adekunle Gold, and others celebrating his recent victory over Alexa Pereira.

However, a Burna Boy fan replied to the tweet, criticizing Adekunle Gold for allegedly copying Burna Boy's style. The user, whose Twitter handle is @benny7gg, claimed that Adekunle Gold imitated Burna Boy's posture, dress, and smile, and urged him to be original.

While Adekunle Gold did not respond to the allegation, his wife, Simi, came to his defense after seeing the tweet. She suggested that the person who made the comment haa nothing positive going on in their life and was therefore attempting to distract themselves with negative posts. Simi also implied that people with good things happening in their lives would not engage in such behavior.
