"It's Wrong to say Lagos Is No Man's Land" Yule Edochie Slams His Kinsmen

By Agboola Ibrahim

Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie in a recent post on social media berates his own people over tribal sentiments. He spoke at length about the need to be united and patriotic.

Furthermore, in the recent post, Yul Edochie became critical on his people towards their claim that Lagos State belongs to nobody. In his lengthy speech, Yul described the statement to be utterly wrong.

Reacting to this statement via his verified Instagram page, Yul Edochie disclosed that Lagos is a Yoruba State as should forever be seen as such. In support of his claim, he said just as Lagos is a Yoruba land, Anambra is a Igbo and cannot be claimed by any tribe.

He noted that he has been living in Lagos since 2011 and he knows other tribes have contributed to the development of Lagos in their own ways but it shouldn’t take away the fact that Lagos belongs to the Yoruba.

Citing an example, Yul Edochie said that Anambra is an Igbo land therefore if other tribes are living there, it doesn’t make sense to say that Anambra is now a no man’s land.

Yul Edochie wrote, “I’ve lived in Lagos since 2011. Built my house in Lagos. Not once have I experienced any form of hate or rejection from the Yorubas. Anytime Yoruba boys see me on the the street, they gather to greet me, and it’s all love always. And this talk flying around that Lagos is a no man’s land is wrong. Lagos is a Yoruba state in Yoruba land. Imagine someone saying that Anambra is a no man’s land. That’s crap. Anambra is an Igbo Land. You can’t come into someone’s land and tell the person it’s now a no man’s land. Na you dey find trouble.

Nobody can deny the fact that the Igbos have contributed immensely to the development of Lagos. Other tribes have contributed in their own ways too. And the Yorubas have been largely accomodating as well. It shouldn’t take away the fact that Lagos is a Yoruba land. We no dey drag ownership. Let’s kill tribalism before it kills us.”

He accompanied the post with the caption, “Let’s kill Tribalism before it kills us. ❤️❤️✌️✌️.”.
