Rema's hit song, Calm Down, has been certified platinum in the United Kingdom. Platinum is the certification awarded to an album or a song that has sold more than 1 million copies. It would be right therefore to say that the song "calm down" has sold massively internationally.

In a tweet on Friday, Chart Data disclosed that ‘Calm Down’ is now eligible for platinum certification. This was announced on the Brits Award Instagram page on Friday.

Recall that Rema released "Calm Down" on February 11, 2022. It charted throughout Europe, reaching #1 in Belgium, The Netherlands and Switzerland.

The singer later partnered with Selena Gomez, the US songstress, for the remix of the hit track in August of the same year.

In November 2022, the song soared up to the top 5 of Billboard 200 and pulled over 393 million views, the visuals of the song became the most-viewed Nigerian music video on YouTube.

Reposting the announcement on his Instagram story, Rema wrote, "God is kind".
