Desmond Elliot & Friends Storm La Beach in Accra

By Francis Addo-Dailyguideghana

Nigerian movie star, Desmond Elliot, is expected to draw a large number of fans to the La Beach in Accra this afternoon to party, as part of a beach jam dubbed 'Lollipop'.

The beach jam is being organized in his behalf by Sound TV Multimedia.

The Lollipop beach party which started last year is aimed at reuniting friends as well as bringing families together. Two different parties of its kind were held last year at the Tesano Sports Club.

This year's event is to also create an enabling environment for actor Desmond to meet and chit-chat with his Ghanaian fans, especially the ladies.

Anticipated to be full of fun, the jam would see Desmond sharing lollipop toffees to fans, taking shots with fans and as well signing autographs. The tall, dark-looking gentleman arrived in Ghana last Thursday and granted interviews to a section of the Ghanaian press at the Villa Garden at Asylum Down.

Also a producer with two movies to his credit and one yet to be released, Desmond adds up to the numerous Nollywood bigwigs who are making Ghana their haven this weekend. He would as well be premiering his new movie, 'Before The Light' at the TV3 Executive Theater on Sunday, June 14.

He described the movie as Christian-bias. “It is a little biased from the Christian faith with regard to the storyline and it is what you might call a Christian movie; but it is not the type you see people holding the Bible every second. Basically, it is passionate to me. It talks about marriage, fidelity, and forgiveness,” he told the Ghanaian media.

The grand premiere is expected to host big stars as Ini Edo, Mercy Johnson, and Richard Mofe Damijor, who is currently a commissioner for Tourism in Delta State in Nigeria. The programme would attract resounding performances from Sarkodie, Kla-la, Mad Fish among others.

Meanwhile, Emeka Ike, Segun Arinze and some of the stars mentioned above would be trooping the National Theater tonight to be part of the premiere of the 'Heat of Moment,' which stars Ghana's favourite Kofi Adjorlolo, Mercy Johnson, Emeka Ike and others.
