Nigerian singer Banky W says he was disappointed when his former record label signee Wizkid failed to appear at his wedding ceremony.

Banky W, born Bankole Wellington, got married to his then-girlfriend, Adesua Etomi in a star-studded ceremony in 2017.

In a chat on the BlackBox show, the singer turned politician disclosed that he was disappointed when the former EME inmate did not show up at his wedding.

"Was I disappointed that he wasn't at the wedding? I was but I know he tried because there was a show with a lot of the artists...I think it was One Africa.

"As a matter of fact, Tiwa ended up...there was business class and she took an economy seat so she could make it. But he called at the time that he was so sorry,” he told host, Ebuka Obi – Uchendu.

Speaking on the singer’s sudden departure from the label, Banky W revealed that he did so without fulfilling his part in the contract.

"I think it was a 5 album deal and he had done 2 solo albums... I think he still owed 3 more albums but he wanted to leave. And for me, that was enough because I don't want anybody to stay where they want to stay,” he stated.

The ‘Ojualegba’ hitmaker signed on to Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) in 2009 under which he released two albums, ‘StarBoy’ and ‘Ayo’.

He however exited the label in 2014.
