By Nollywood Gists

Sunday, January 9, 2022 was an incredible night to remember as singer and creative expert, Nissi Ogulu hosted exclusive guests to a live exhibition of her arts collection which she titled, “Puzzled”.

The Dynamic Creative-Singer-songwriter, Engineer, Fine Artist, Recording Artiste, Entrepreneur, Animator, Creative Director, all rolled up into one, showcased her dexterity and prowess in this exclusive event held at Red Door Gallery, VI, Lagos — an event that encapsulated Nissi's very essence in a scenic ambience of naturalness drawn from her paintings, which gave the guests a feel of where she is at and where she's going as an artist.

In an event that was pumped full of glitz and glamour, which had in attendance Grammy-winning artiste, Burna Boy, Bose Ogulu, host extraordinaire, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Ronami Ogulu, Big Brother season 6 housemate, Saskay, DJ Lambo, DJ Caise and a host of many others, Nissi describes her work as a perfect mélange of all the components of her life, with each art piece completely different from the other from depth of meaning to the creative processes involved.

Merging her passion for music, with her engineering skills, product design and art, Nissi, in her own words says: “They are a representation of me, I want to push the narrative to the forefront of conversation, how multifaceted and resourceful we are as people, normalise the idea of not just looking at people when you meet them, but actually seeing them. Oftentimes silence and actions will speak louder than the most carefully thought-out words”.

Through the successful showcase, Nissi laid emphasis on how elusive “clarity” could be, thus, opening up to the possibility of conversation, having created a body of work which gives the viewer sufficient latitude to interpret as they wish based on their own realities and experiences of life as we know it.

In an address by her mother, Bose Ogulu where she extolled Nissi's artistic brilliance, Bose gushed: “I am really proud of how far Nissi has come. She has always been different from her siblings. She has a whole lot of dreams and I believe that one day she will design her own car, like she did with the Range Rover deal”.

In an unforgettable evening of Nissi's explosive artistic reveal, one of the major highlights was when Nissi undauntedly mounted the drawing board and brought to life a beautiful piece of work in the presence of gobsmacked guests, completely cementing her place as one of the country's finest creatives to watch out for in the nearest future.
