Salamatu Mohammed, an upcoming actress, has declared that she would never sleep with any movie director to be given a plum role.

The actress, fondly called Sally by her admirers, said she was certain to become a star actress in the movie industry. Salamatu, who hails from Biu local government area of Borno State, but lives in Kaduna, said her passion for acting was "beyond imagination."

Salamatu, 24, said her love for acting is so much that every other thing is secondary to her. "I want to become a star actress in my life time. My passion for acting is beyond human imagination and this is what I'm out to achieve," she said.

Sally, who disclosed this in an interview to http://nollywoodgists.com in Kaduna, said acting, like many other professions, has its own advantage in terms of its impact on the society. Bent on projecting the image and culture of the North in the right perspective, Sally, whose mother hail from Lagos State, believes that where she comes from does not really matter so long as it would not be a hindrance to the pursuit of her chosen profession.

"Believe me, much as I'm ready to play any role given to me, I will not in any way try to sell my body or do anything that is detrimental to me, my family, the society and the country at large," Sally stated.

Salamatu, whose passion for acting started at a very young age, acted in series of dramas during her elementary education. As an NCE holder in Public Administration which she obtained from the Federal College of Education, Zaria, Sally, was combining her studies with extra mural classes on acting.

Sally said it took her some reasonable time to convince her mother to support her because both parents were actually against her ambition at the initial stage.

Some of the movies she has, so far, acted in include Waka-Pass and Mid Night Star.

Narrating her ordeal in the hands of directors and popular actors in the movie industry, the dark complexioned Salamatu, said: "Any time I suspect such things, I always stay away. In fact, I don't even allow it to go far, if I am not too comfortable with a director or someone asking me over to his hotel room to collect my script, I will turn it down.

"I don't want to be specific on any particular director, that is why I have not gone far in the industry," she explained.

Salamatu, attended Video Wave Actors training school in Kaduna and is presently undergoing a training programme at the Gushen Production training school for acting in Abuja.
