God asked me to Build an Orphanage Because of how Babies are Being thrown Away…Odion Ighalo

Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, is already achieving a milestone which some of his colleagues are yet to achieve or embark on as he is set to officially unveil his orphanage.

The player during a chat with newsmen explained that building an orphanage is not because he has the money but a directive from God to him.

He stated that though he is an orphan but God has brought him this far and back then he actually made a vow to God that if he could make the world celebrate him then he will come back to give hope in the society.

Odion stated that though he has been helping people but not in this type of way he has decided to embark on as he had earlier thought of how he is going to raise money to do that but God has been very supportive.

According to him, “When this idea first came through, God, I was scared because of money. I recalled how I started from Ajegunle, it was not easy and that made me make a vow to God that if he sees me through, I will come back to give to the society. I started 3-4years ago and since putting my hand into it, God has seen me through. The orphanage might bear my name but it’s for everyone and open to public opinion too because it will help me learn and know where to put things right. I plan on having children from age 0-10years, and we will ensure that we groom them to become someone in life and be able to fit into the society at age 18. We are looking for kids without home care and the orphanage is open for people to come in and donate anything they can to help support and show love to these children. Back then I do see babies being thrown into the gutter by mothers and this makes me feel bad and wanting to help.”

The likes of legendary players, Samson Siasia, Peter Rufai and Augustine Eguavon were on ground to support their own boy turned son who according to them has done what no player has thought of doing.

The official date of the unveiling is December 16th, at 39, olusoji oladapo street, kudeyinbu estate, Ijegun, Lagos state.
