Mavin records boss, Don Jazzy, has been one very observant CEO and he has continued to prove that he has listening ears which is one of the qualities of a good leader.

He recently admitted that he has been listening to the way Nigerians criticize the high rate of commercial music in the country but explained that they give what the fans show interest in.

Don Jazzy stated that Nigerian artistes are good in other genres of music but the larger populations of fans have shown more interest in the fast beat style of music which is why they keep getting more of it.

In his words, “We get complaints sometimes about too much Naija "commercial" music. The truth is that we only make what you guys show love to. We have heard your voices and we throw a challenge to y'all to help steer the industry to some alternate commercial music. I believe there are a lot of us with great music taste to appreciate all kinds of music.”
