Comedian Basorge Jnr. Enjoins Comedians To Stop Repeating Jokes
Nigerian veteran comedian, Basorge Tariah junior has revealed the major problems rocking the comedy entertainment scene in Nigeria.
According to the 49-year-old actor, comedians need to be more original in cracking jokes and stop recycling jokes.
He made this known in a recent interview with HipTV.
His words, “I am not going to say who has what it takes or not who is good in the industry.
“My problem with the industry is that a lot of people are telling the same jokes which are not relevant anymore.
“You will only get laughter from me, only if the jokes are intelligent if it's just something that would illicit some boisterous effect and I forget it will be meaningless.
“It's time for us to have intelligent writers, people that will write jokes that will have punch lines.”
“My advice for the society and comics is that we need people that will write intelligent jokes that we can build on, so we begin to sound like 'Trevor Noah', South-African Comedian,” he added.
