Against widespread belief, fast-rising Fuji talent, Mudashiru Ajani has insisted that musicians who sing Fuji genre are not miscreants.

The artiste fondly called Safejo Amama, said he was committed to changing the perception a lot of persons have about Fuji singers being hooligans and never-do-wells in the society.

His words: “There is a lot of wrong perception about Fuji artistes, it is time to change all of that. I want to state categorically that Fuji musicians are as responsible and law-abiding as their counterparts who are into other genres. Alhaji Alabi Pasuma, my humble self and many others are enough examples to prove to anybody that such gross categorisation is not true.

“As a person, I have discovered that dressing decently and addressing people politely are one of the ways to portray a good image about one's self. I do not joke with this because I don't want the world to perceive me wrongly.”

Safejo who is known to wear two wristwatches at the same time, insisted that Fuji music will continue to remain relevant in most parts of Nigeria and beyond regardless of the stiff competition from hip hop, dancehall and Afrobeat.“Fuji music is unique and can be enjoyed by people from all languages. This sound of music, which is one of the most unique in Nigeria, has existed for several years and shall continue to remain because new innovations keep coming into it by the day. My new album, which is set to hit the market any moment from now, would prove to a lot of people that Fuji music is well and alive,” he said.
