So Sad! Former Chairman of PMAN Slumps and Dies

By NG

A former  Chairman of the Performing Musicians Employers' Association of Nigeria, PMAN, Abuja chapter, Mr. Collins Adeyemi  is dead. The renowned Master of ceremonies cum actor died on Wednesday after a brief illness  in Abuja.

The last time Adeyemi was seen was at 6th Edition of the prestigious African Achievers Awards.  It has revealed  that the sickness was not unknown. The  co-founder of the African Achievers Award, Ambassador David James Egwu,  said, 'The death of Adeyemi calls for sober reflection.

What really killed Adeyemi remains a mystery to me as we were both at the Award event together. Unfortunately, before his death, he told me he was not feeling too well and we did not even know he would make it to the event but he did; only for me to get a call early this morning that Adeyemi is gone.'

He added 'Death is so inevitable and sometimes I wonder why we are struggling. What's all the struggle for? If someone as hardworking and persevering like Adeyemi can die untimely, then I wonder,' the event manager said. 'It is true he slumped and died. He was at home in his Abuja residence when it happened but before his wife could get him to the hospital, he was gone,' the deceased's friend added, although he did not disclose the name of the hospital.

We can't even ascertain what led to his death; if it was a mild ailment he had or something else, no one knows, but the truth is we have all lived our lives and one day we will all die. That is just as they say there is no evil in the world but there is nothing un-evil in the world and it comes from different areas. All we need do is put our trust and hope in God. His death is a very sad one. We are meeting later in the day to deliberate on the next step,' he added.
